If the patient misses a dose of this medication, use as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to the original schedule. Do not double doses. If the doses are doubled, the symptoms the medication controls (diarrhea) may reappear.The doses should be evenly spaced over 24 hours.

Also used for adults with GHD SQ Children-Leukemia has occurred in a small number of children, however the relationship between growth hormone and leukemia is uncertain, injection site pain. Adults- headache, localized muscle pain, weakness, mild hyperglycemia, glucosuria, edema The injection may be administered in the thigh, buttocks, or abdomen. The injection sites need to be rotated.
  Humatrope Somatropin Lilly 1-800-545-5979 For growth failure indicated with chronic renal insufficiency, somatropin insufficiency, and Turner’s Syndrome. SQ or IM Development of antibodies, also headache, localized muscle pain, weakness, mild hypoglycemia, glucose in the urine, transient edema during early treatment.   Protropin Somatrem Genentech 1-800-334-0290 For primary growth hormone deficiency SQ or IM Children-Leukemia has occurred in a small number of children, however the relationship between growth hormone and leukemia is uncertain, injection site pain. Patients may develop antibodies to the medication. Other common side effects include breast growth and pancreatitis. Missing a dose should not cause the patient harm. If the patient misses a dose of this medication, do not give the missed dose at all and do not double the next one.

Also, injection site reaction, difficulty in swallowing, nausea and vomiting, discomfort in jaw, mouth, tongue, throat, nasal cavity or sinuses, dizziness, drowsiness, flushing, lightheadedness, muscle aches, cramps or stiffness, weakness, fatigue, vision changes. The patient should lie down in a quiet, dark room after injection.
